This secluded 2 bedroom, 2 bath casita is hidden behind high adobe walls, in a quiet neighborhood. The home has unique architectural details, including original reclaimed telephone pole post and beam construction, authentic vigas tongue and groove ceiling, Saltillo tile floors, handmade Mexican tiles in the kitchen and baths, and an elevated stucco wood-burning fireplace.
The home is enhanced by handmade furnishings and fixtures from Mexico, including rustic cabinets, vintage wrought iron door knobs and bed frames, leather furniture, woven blankets and rugs, and hacienda lanterns.
Living Room
The living room has a comfortable seating area with a leather sofa and club chairs, an elevated wood-burning fireplace with a comfortable hearth, and a media cabinet with cable television, stereo, and DVD player. The living room is fully air-conditioned, and has a ceiling fan. A vintage and authentic Corona beer cooler has been re-purposed as a chest for swimming pool towels.
Queen Bedroom
At the rear of the casita is the Queen Bedroom, furthest away from the guest and common areas. It is fully carpeted and has a high, four post queen sized bed with a firm pillow-top mattress, extra large closet, ceiling fan, rustic pine furniture, and a television. The large window overlooks the swimming pool.
Twin Bedroom
At the front of the casita, just off the entrance, is the Twin Bedroom. It has an ensuite bathroom with full tub and shower, 2 twin beds with firm mattresses in wrought iron bed frames, large closet, high and low dressers, and a ceiling fan. It has a Saltillo tile floor and a overlooks the swimming pool.
Bathrooms
The casita’s 2 bathrooms have upgraded custom fixtures, including hand-painted Mexican tile shower enclosures and sink surrounds, and custom Mexican tin mirrors. The Queen bathroom has an over sized step-in shower; while the Twin bathroom has both a shower and full sized bathtub.
Kitchen
The kitchen boasts the colorful hand-painted Mexican tiles found throughout the home, and is fully-equipped with upgraded appliances, including refrigerator, freezer with ice-maker, oven, microwave, dishwasher, stainless steel sinks, chopping block and tile counters, and counter top appliances, including a coffee maker, blender, and more.
Dining Areas
The indoor dining table seats 6. A breakfast bar with upholstered bar stools seats 3. A sideboard is available for buffet serving. The outdoor dining table seats 4, and an outdoor lounge area seats 4. A propane gas BBQ grill is available.
Patio Areas
The large and sunny patio in front of the home has a rustic and sturdy bench for sitting and watching the sunrise to the East. It is surrounded by a privacy wall and affords a quiet zen space for morning meditation, yoga, or tai chi. The extra large, secluded and private rear patio is poolside, with 3 seating areas, 2 of them under shade, and 1 in the sun. In the evening, warm yourself with a glass of wine by a fire in the outdoor terra cotta chimera, under the scent of a tangerine tree.
Swimming Pool
The in-ground salt-water (saline) swimming pool is unheated. The intense sun of the La Quinta desert keeps the water comfortably warm for much of the Spring, Summer and Fall seasons. The long and rectangular shape to a 5 foot deep end is perfect for lap swimmers. Easy to navigate steps with a hand-rail are in the shallow end, as well as an under the water level built in bench. Four adjustable lounge beds are available, as well as plentiful towels in the towel chest. Floats and rafts are available.
Entertainment | Wi-Fi
The casita has 2 color televisions with basic cable television service (1 in the living room and 1 in the Queen Bedroom), a stereo and CD player (living room), and a DVD player (living room). On Demand Movies or Pay Per View are not available. Complimentary wi-fi is available. Computers and printers are not provided.
Supplies
The casita will have a starter supply of bath soap, toilet tissue, paper towels, dishwasher powder, dish washing detergent, laundry, cleaning supplies and propane for guests. Refills are at guest expense. Personal care items (shampoo, razors, toothbrushes, etc) are not provided.

The casita is equipped with central air-conditioning and heat. A full size washer and dryer are available. Off street parking under an open carport is available. RV parking is not available or permitted.
