DEPARTURE CHECKLIST

The owner of your La Quinta Adobe Casita has ensured the property is clean, well-maintained and ready to make your Palm Springs vacation a pleasant experience.   Each of the tasks on this list are personally performed by the owner and his staff prior to your arrival, so a glance at this departure checklist will assist you in leaving the casita in the same condition as you found it, which protects your liability for any additional cleaning or repairs required, and, will enable your host to return your cleaning deposit.

KITCHEN

  • Remove and dispose of all perishable food from the refrigerator and freezer
  • Remove and dispose of all pantry food which you may have purchased  (ok to leave coffee, tea, sugar, salt, pepper and similar non-perishable condiments)
  • Clean any food, debris or liquids which have spilled inside freezer or refrigerator
  • Clean counters, sinks, floor and face of cabinets
  • Check to assure no food or spills have collected in the drip trays on the stove top burners
  • Check to assure no food or spills have collected under the lift-up stove top
  • Check to assure no food or spills have collected in the oven
  • Clean interior of microwave
  • Clean all small electrics if used (toaster, blender, etc)
  • Rinse out coffee maker and check for used grounds in the filter
  • Wash and put away all dishes and cutlery
  • Empty the dishwasher
  • Run the garbage disposal
  • Empty the trash
  • Check pantry for any personal possession; sweep if necessary

 LIVING ROOM and DINING AREA   

  • Return all house magazines and books to the bookcase.  Do not remove hardback or tour guides from the property.  Tenant donated paperbacks may be taken or exchanged.
  • Clean out fireplace (ashes, paper and wood removed) if used during your stay
  • Wipe down leather sofa
  • Vacuum rug
  • Dust any furniture tops
  • Clean mirror
  • Wipe down or dust dining table and chairs
  • Return remotes to the television cabinet

TWIN BEDROOM

  • Launder bed linens if slept in and remake the beds
  • Check all drawers and remove all personal possessions
  • Check closets for personal possessions
  • Clean bathtub, shower, sink, counter, and toilet
  • Launder and replace towels if used
  • Sweep and mop tile floor in bedroom and ensuite bathroom
  • Clean mirror

QUEEN BEDROOM

  • Launder bed linens and remake the bed
  • Check all drawers and remove all personal possessions
  • Check closets for personal possessions
  • Vacuum carpet
  • Check drawers and under bed for personal items
  • Return iron and ironing board to closet if necessary

QUEEN BATHROOM

  • Clean shower, sink, counter, and toilet
  • Launder and replace towels if used
  • Sweep and mop tile floor
  • Check drawers for personal items
  • Clean mirror

INTERIOR TILE FLOORS GENERALLY

  • Sweep, damp mop

LAUNDRY ROOM

  • Remove all clothes from washer and dryer
  • Assure all towels and linens have been folded and stored away
  • Wipe down any spilled soaps and detergents
  • Clean lint trap

WINDOWS

  • If you have left hand prints and fingerprints on windows, please clean them

POOLSIDE

  • Put away all floats, rafts
  • Launder all towels and return to the towel chest
  • Assure no trash is on or around the furniture or poolside
  • Assure no toys, hair clips, or other personal items haven fallen in the pool
  • Check for hats and personal items on towel hooks
  • Return hoses, neatly wound on the hose cart
  • Scrape any food residue from BBQ, if used
  • Assure BBQ is off and stowed under the patio roof
  • Assure poolside cabinets are closed and locked

DRIVEWAY

  • Assure no trash is on or around the driveway or carport
  • Pour an absorbent material (such as cat litter) on any oil stains from your car

KEYS

  • Keys should be left inside the house in an open and obvious spot on the dining room table, sideboard or breakfast bar, or, in the gated lock box if the code was provided.

ABOUT THE CLEANING DEPOSIT

The cleaning deposit is reserved for any excessive cleaning required, beyond normal wear and tear,  and particularly if any of the listed items, above, were not completed prior to departure.  The cleaning deposit is not a quote or a maximum charge.   The deposit is the MINIMUM cleaning charge. Additional charges, if incurred, will be billed to Guest.
